Cultural festival “Pares y Nones” delighted tourists who arrived at the Historic Center of Juayúa – Diario La Página – 2024-04-09 17:27:57

Juayúa was the center of attention this weekend for national and foreign tourists who enjoyed the National Dance Company in the revitalized Historic Center of this district of the municipality of Sonsonate Norte, which was recently remodeled by the Government of the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele Ortez.

“Pares y Nones” was called the artistic program where they performed choreographies of musical themes: “Sin macha siempre”, “Narrativa de lo habitual”, “Amor brujo”, “Nostalgia”, “La Danza del Molinero”, “Fraternal” and “The bullet”.

This is the second cultural festival held by the Directorate of Municipal Works (DOM) in this colonial site that was revitalized on February 3 for more than 50 thousand inhabitants of this place in the west of the country.

In Juayúa, which in Nahuatl means “City of red or purple orchids”, the central park was renovated with new benches, flooring, planters, lantern-type lights and the main fountain, among others. The façade of the Santa Lucía parish was also softened with new paint and lighting with LED technology.

This district of the municipality of Sonsonate Norte, which is part of the tourist Ruta de Las Flores, now provides a new recreational space for Salvadoran families, thus fulfilling the president’s objective.

The DOM works continue in Juayúa, as streets are being renovated with cobblestone and hydraulic concrete surfaces around the historic center.

Other similar sites were recently delivered in Apaneca and Concepción de Ataco in Ahuachapán. The memorial plaza of the El Mozote hamlet, in Meanguera, Morazán, as well as the colonial site of Suchitoto, in Cuscatlán, have also been revitalized.
