The gap between New Democracy and the SYRIZA and PaSoK parties that pursue it remains wide, according to a new poll by the ALCO company on behalf of the ALPHA television station. The majority of respondents, however, consider that the government was the big loser from the motion of no confidence submitted to Parliament and the debate surrounding it. PaSoK seems to have won through this process.
More generally, the Tempe case “hurts” the ruling party, as the vast majority are not convinced that there is no cover-up operation in the investigations into the train accident
The intention to vote for the European elections
In the vote intention for the European elections, New Democracy collects 25.6% (27% in March), compared to 12.3% (10.5%) collected by SYRIZA (which consolidates in second place), a difference of 13, 3 percentage points. It is followed by PaSoK with 11.4% (11.5%), Hellenic Solution with 8.2% (6.4%), KKE with 8% (8.9%), Victory party with 3.5% , Freedom Sailing with 3.5% (3%), New Left with 2.4% (2.5%) and Spartans with 2.2% (2.5%).
In the vote estimate for the European elections, the percentages of the parties are as follows:
- SW: 29-33%
- SYRIZA: 14-16%
- PASOK: 12-14%
- Greek Solution: 9-11%
- KKE: 8-10%
- Party Win: 3-5%
- Freedom of Navigation: 3-5%
- Spartans: 2-4%
- New Left: 2-3.4%
49% see the European elections as an opportunity for a protest vote, while 47% answer negatively.
Who lost and who gained from the motion of no confidence
When asked whether the debate on the no-confidence motion for Tempi affects the vote ahead of the European elections, 37% answered not at all, 20% quite a bit and 19% a little.
As for the winners and losers, 23% answered that PaSoK won, while 20% answered SYRIZA.
As for which parties lost, citizens answered 42% that ND lost, 27% answered that SYRIZA lost and 22% PaSoK.
75% answer that they are not convinced that there is no cover-up attempt in the Tempe case, while 14% answer that they are convinced.
At the same time, the citizens were not convinced even by the narrative that “powerful interests want to destabilize the country”. 63% state that they are not convinced of such a thing and only 22% that they are convinced about it.
On the other hand, 57% disagree with Kasselakis’ proposal for the resignation of the prime minister and the holding of elections, while 26% agree.
