From the words of the witness, it is clear that he is an employee of the Ministry of the Interior, he knows that Stefan Dimitrov and his father Marin are engaged in smuggling, but he contacted them in order to have information. He also met the alleged smuggler Pascal.
According to bTV sources, witness number 3 is the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhikov Kotsev. He has been questioned twice and we understand that prosecutors are now reviewing the evidence to determine whether to charge him.

Our team was unable to contact Zhivko Kotsev today, according to information from the Ministry of the Interior, he is in hospital.

In the published interrogation, the witness claims that he has been working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for a long time and that his job is to contact persons of operational interest. It also becomes clear that he first met the accused Marin Dimitrov, and then met his son Stefan Dimitrov. After that, it becomes clear that the two are on friendly terms with former interior minister Boyko Rashkov.

“I have had business relations with Mr. Boyko Rashkov for a long time, I have visited his home and there I have seen Marin and Stefan, which confirmed the information that they have a lasting good relationship with each other. My loyalty to Mr. Boyko Rashkov is the main reason I maintain my contacts with Marin and Stefan,” says the witness.

It is clear from the interrogation that, according to this witness, Stefan Dimitrov had a close relationship with employees of the “Customs” Agency, but sought closer contact with Petya Bankova.

“Stefan knew that I knew Bankova and asked me to hold joint meetings with her, but I always distanced myself and refused this type of cooperation,” are other words of the witness.

So far, only one party in the process confirms that the anonymous witness is the chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – lawyer Ludmil Angelov.

Meanwhile, the Sofia City Court closed the private criminal case against Marin Dimitrov. The prosecutor’s office must decide for themselves when to issue a new request for Dimitrov’s detention or to determine another measure of remand, since he is in hospital.
