America watches total solar eclipse (LIVE)

Millions of Americans are watching a total solar eclipse. Minutes after 9 p.m., the Moon completely eclipsed the Sun – first in the Cook Islands in the Pacific Ocean. The natural phenomenon is observed in Mexico, USA and Canada. Hundreds of people flocked to Niagara Falls to witness the phenomenon.

The maximum phase of the total eclipse occurred on Monday 21:17:18 (Bulgarian time) in Mexico. The total eclipse ends at 10:55:34 PM in the Atlantic, and the partial phase ends at 11:52:19 PM, also in the Atlantic.

Total solar eclipses happen regularly, but not very often: the next one won’t be until 2026, and it will be visible mostly in the Atlantic Ocean.
