Total solar eclipse 2024 in Ukraine – how to watch

How and when will Ukrainians see a solar eclipse and comet?

A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth and briefly covers the entire disk of the luminary.

At this point, the Sun’s thin, almost white outer atmosphere, called the corona, is visible.

In Ukraine, a total solar eclipse will not be visible live.

Those who were not able to be “on the path” of the blackout will be able to observe this natural phenomenon remotely – online.

For this purpose, the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration – NASA – created a special video broadcast on YouTube.

In order not to miss the solar eclipse in video format and watch it at the same time as the rest of the world, you need to remember the time difference.

The NASA video broadcast will begin at 20:00, and peak blackout for Ukrainians will occur at 20:18 Kyiv time.

Around the same time The amazing comet Pons-Brooks should also appear in the sky (12P/Pons-Brooks), better known as the Devil’s Comet.

Previously, it was moving through the inner part of our system towards the Sun at a speed of about 64,500 km/h, but subsequently turned around and flew towards the Earth.

Who can see the solar eclipse with their own eyes?

You can watch the total phase of the solar eclipse live on April 8 in Mexico, USA and Canada.

That will last for 4 minutes and 27 seconds.

Partial darkening phases may be visible in other parts of North America, Central America and even Western Europe.

At the same time, according to scientists, the total solar eclipse will be clearly visible in about 40 settlements.
