Dutty Dior, whose real name was Kristoffer Castin Åman, broke through with the single “Hallo” together with the artist Isah in 2019. In the same year, the song, which has over 33 million streams on Spotify, was named Song of the Year at the Norwegian P3 Gull gala.
During his years in the limelight, Dutty Dior collaborated with a number of famous Norwegian artists, including Nils Bech, Stig Brenner, Karpe and Arif. In 2021, he was nominated in the hip-hop category at the Spellemannprisen, Norway’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards.
Mats Borch Bugge, director of music at NRK, describes him as a unique rapper.
– He was also an emotional rapper, I would like to say, who has meant a lot to many, he says to the Norwegian public service company.
