A man was stabbed several times after being attacked during a fight on the Manhattan subway on Sunday morningsources reported.
The 34-year-old victim was on an E train heading north through downtown New York City when he was brutally stabbed in the back.police sources announced.
The subjects knew each other previously. It is unclear what or who started the dispute.
As the train slowed to a stop on the platform at 53rd and Lexington, The attacker fled the scene with two friends and boarded a train headed to Queens.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
The large amount of blood that was in the car of the E train revealed the nature of the attack, which led the MTA to put the train out of service.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) is searching for the attacker and offered a reward of $3,500 for information leading to his whereabouts. In addition, they published a video of the suspect with a call for information on platform X before 11:00 p.m.

An hour after the first attack, another man was stabbed and beaten in Brooklyn.
The 22-year-old victim was the target of a violent crime shortly before 8:00 in the morning and boarded an A train at Nostrand and Fulton towards East New York to report the incident. His health status is unknown.
Both crimes occur just as subway safety has become a controversial issue for Mayor Eric Adams.who just a few weeks ago unveiled new technology that will scan passengers for firearms at stations.
“This is our Sputnik moment,” Adams boasted as he unveiled a standalone scanner made by weapons detection company Evolv.
“Like when Kennedy said we were going to put a man on the moon… Let’s put the scanners on.”
These scanners were put in place in response to the wave of violence that has been unleashed in the New York subway.
The number of assaults for serious crimes in the subway system increased by 53% in 2023 compared to the same period before the pandemicwith 570 similar attacks of this type last year compared to 373 in 2019, according to the latest data from the NYPD.
Nevertheless, Crime in the subway system fell 23.5% in the month of March and police attributed the drop to the 1,000 additional officers now patrolling.
Recently, another 800 NYPD officers were deployed as part of an initiative to enforce fare evasion.
“There can be a sense of lawlessness in the subway system, and it starts at the turnstiles,” Police Commissioner Edward Caban said in a statement this week.
