President Jokowi’s Use of Presidential Operational Funds for Social Assistance and School Aid

Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres) Heru Budi revealed the basic necessities that are often distributed President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) using presidential operational funds. Heru said that the president’s operational funds were intended not only for basic necessities but also for several other social assistance.

“Funds come from presidential operations. So there are various types of presidential operational funds, including social assistance,” said Heru Budi to journalists in front of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (8/4/2024).

Not only social assistance, Heru said Jokowi also used operational funds to provide assistance to schools. It is known that Jokowi often provides assistance when visiting schools.

“During a visit to the sample area at that time, Mas Yusuf, as the head of the protocol bureau, accompanied him, also giving a car to the SMK. Likewise on visits to other areas when the SMK needed lab equipment, the president also provided it,” said Heru.

“So this basic food is part of the President’s assistance, as I said earlier when COVID provided ready-to-eat food, when MSMEs were directly affected by COVID, the President invited approximately 250 to 500 of these MSMEs to the Palace every day to be given aid of IDR 1, 2 million. So various, all provinces,” he added.
