Synology Releases New Update for Disk Station Manager – 7.2.1 Version Improvements and Downloads

Synology has released a fourth update for version 7.2.1 of Disk Station Manager. Synology DSM is the management software that runs on various NAS products from the company. The Disk and Rack Stations offer more than just extra storage space. Additional packages can be installed to allow the device to function as a media server, home automation server, web server, print server or backup server, for example. The possibilities are endless.

To install version 7.2, at least version 7.1 must be present. Furthermore, it is only suitable for NAS models with a type number ending in 16 or higher. Version 7.1 is the last update for models ending in 13, 14 or 15. For the other conditions and the various downloads, see this page. In version 7.2.1 we mainly find bug fixes. Furthermore, the Storage Manager has been separated from the operating system and is now a separate module, which can therefore be updated more easily. This release fixes an issue that could cause firmware updates to be delayed in some cases.
