The State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) informs that from now on the VMI curator will have a larger number of clients. Additional assistance from tax specialists will be provided to 600 companies in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys counties. In the coming days, they will be informed about this and invited to cooperate through My VMI.
“We rely on good practices in tax administration, we see benefits for clients and positive changes, so we take the initiative to increase the number of clients under supervision. The curators will ensure that companies receive services that meet their individual needs, will seek mutually beneficial cooperation, and will resolve the issues that have arisen through real-time dialogue,” says Virginija Ginevičienė, the head of the project, head of the State Tax Inspectorate of Vilnius County.
This type of cooperation has been developed for many years in the segment of large tax payers, as well as in communication with persons who dispose of high-value assets. The additional assistance of the tax administrator, focused on the individual needs of the client, helps to correctly calculate and pay taxes on time in order to achieve greater tax compliance and equal competitive conditions.
The target group includes 120 companies in Vilnius, 160 in Kaunas and Klaipėda, and 80 in Panevėžys and Šiauliai counties, classified as average taxpayers. The project included companies from both big cities and smaller cities, focused primarily on an even distribution between regions, and the criterion of riskiness was not evaluated in this case.
VMI specialists will help in solving extremely complex tax issues, organize meetings, promptly respond to customer requests, share observations on possible discrepancies in tax returns on their own initiative. Companies will not have additional obligations as a result of these changes, as before, they will receive all services provided by the tax administrator in the usual manner.
