Since Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace in the early afternoon and temporarily overtook Arsenal in points, the North London team entered the field at the home of Brighton in need of victory. Before the match, Mikel Arteta’s team was one point behind Manchester City and Liverpool, of which the latter had already played one match more.

Arsenal entered the field in the strongest possible formation, and the difference in quality was visible from the first minutes of the game. In the 33rd minute, Gabriel Jesús pulled him on the left wing, then dribbled inside, but Lamptey clearly kicked the Brazilian attacker inside the penalty area. Martin Ödegaard calmly sold the penalty for the foul, rolling the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal.

In the second half, Arsenal, a contender for the championship title, further increased its advantage: Kai Havertz scored from Jorginho’s pass, then in the last minutes of the match, the German attacker scored an assist and Trossard set the final score. The Belgian attacker calmly lifted the ball over Verbruggen, who was out of position.

And with this, the final result was formed, Arsenal won a confident – and mandatory – three-goal victory at Brighton’s home, thus jumping ahead of Liverpool to the top of the league table. Liverpool, which employs Dominik Szoboszlai, will play a rally at the home of Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Kerkez Milosék’s unbeaten streak was interrupted

In the other matches of the game day, Bournemouth, which employs Kerkez Milos of the Hungarian national team, took the lead in vain, losing with a goal conceded in the first half as a guest of Luton Town. Kerkez started, then was replaced in the 86th minute, the winning goal was then scored by his team, whose five-round unbeaten streak was thus interrupted.

Aston Villa, fighting for a start in the Champions League, played a twisty match against the visiting Brentford. At the beginning of the second half, the home team took a 2-0 lead, but Brentford turned the score around in nine minutes, and Birmingham saved a point with a goal scored in the 81st minute.
