Samsung Galaxy S23 Experiencing Fingerprint Reader Bug with One UI 6.1 Update
Users of the Samsung Galaxy S23 have reported a significant bug with the fingerprint reader following the One UI 6.1 update. The issue has caused frustration among users, with some experiencing overheating, limited fast charging, and most notably, the fingerprint reader failing to function properly.
Initial reports indicated that the smartphone was heating up more than usual, and some users found that fast charging was being restricted. However, the most troublesome bug was the fingerprint reader failing to unlock the device despite the sensor lighting up upon touch.
Users have also noted that in order for the authentication to work, they have to touch the sensor a second time, and in some cases, the device does not display the fingerprint reading animation at all.
While Samsung has yet to address the issue officially, it is clear that this bug is disrupting the daily use of the Galaxy S23 for many users. The inconvenience of having to unlock the device multiple times due to this bug is certainly impacting the user experience.
It is expected that Samsung will release a fix for this bug in future updates, with speculations suggesting that the correction may be included in the April 2024 security patch for the Galaxy S23 lineup.
