The DK claims that its man has never visited the Speaker of the House, but János Nagy, who spoke at Péter Magyar’s demonstration, is considered a Fidesz collaborator, because he received a reward of six million for pro-government votes.
“We are suing the Fidesz-collaborative mayor János Nagy Szigetszentmiklós for the lies he told on Péter Magyar’s stage,” wrote the Democratic Coalition in a statement sent to our newspaper.
The party of Ferenc Gyurcsány and Klára Dobrev objects that János Nagy, who was elected five years ago with an opposition coalition, spoke on the stage of the Kossuth Square demonstration on Saturday. DK representative Attila Jószai often visits László Kövér at his house. On the other hand, the truth is that Attila Jószai never visited László Kövér’s house, and even never spoke to him once in his life.
János Nagy did not name the politician involved. He put it this way: – The deputy mayor whom I dismissed in 2021, who occupies a very high background position in the DK party headquarters, has for some reason regularly visited László Kövér at his home in Szigetszentmiklós. They are the same – the mayor pointed out that he thinks the DK and Fidesz are playing the same game, and then he said that he himself is the one who “doesn’t allow lying, corrupt politicians to steal” and that is why a “discrediting campaign” was launched against him and received threats.
However, the opposition party claims that János Nagy is actually a Fidesz collaborator. The DK supported this by the fact that János Nagy voted with the Fidesz representatives for his reward of six million Szigetszentmiklóson, despite Attila Jószai’s protest. It is no coincidence, adds the opposition party, that both DK and Momentum put up opposition candidates for the municipal election on June 9.
