The authorities of Miami-Dade County, Florida, arrested a young Cuban who was trying to escape to the Greater Antilles after being accused of participating in a serious robbery committed in the Westland shopping center in Hialeah.
The young man was identified as José Carlos Solano Montelier, and the robbery of which he is accused is valued at half a million dollars.

Two of the thieves, identified as Roberto Sánchez, 60, and Javier de la Noval López, 37, were arrested earlier this year. This led to the identification of Solano as the third suspect, however, he managed to evade authorities until this week.
After appearing in court, the judge denied him the right to bail, due to the amount stolen and the potential risk of him trying to escape the country.
Police files indicate that Solano has several criminal records, including cases related to fraud.
In Florida, people who are found guilty of the charge of grand theft can receive a sentence of up to 30 years in prison and a fine of $10,000, depending on the amount stolen.
