Weather forecast, Italy divided in two for Easter and Easter Monday

Forecasts for Holy Week, first easy then difficult: until Saturday the weather reliability is high or very high, however for Easter and Easter Monday some certainties remain, but also many forecast doubts. As every year.

Lorenzo Tedici, site meteorologist www.ilmeteo.it, confirms that from Tuesday to Thursday morning the Colomba Cyclone will bring bad weather. The passage of this cyclone, predicted for days now and confirmed by all meteorological models, will mainly consist of two impulses: a warm front will first bring moderate phenomena to a large part of Italy until this evening, then an even more intense cold front will cross the our country from West to East between Wednesday and Thursday morning.

In detail, the next few hours will see widespread rain and also snow in the Alps up to low altitudes for the period, around 900 meters above sea level (due to the drop in temperatures associated with the Palm Sunday disturbance): the winds will strengthen in prevalence of Sirocco and this will maintain high temperatures in the far South, even above 25°C.

Wednesday the cold front of the Colomba Cyclone will cause thunderstorms and local hailstorms, snow will fall in the Alps above 1100-1200 meters giving a winter tailwind almost everywhere: there will in fact be a drop in temperature and the winds will still be stormy.

And Thursday morning the cyclone will move away towards Ukraine and large sunny spells will arrive: the general context will however still be rather variable especially between Liguria, Tuscany and the Alpine and pre-Alpine sectors, while temperatures will begin to rise.

Il Good Friday it is expected to be unstable only in the northern mountains and gradually warmer everywhere, Saturday unstable only in the northwest with thunderstorms, sunny and hot elsewhere.

This is where the very high weather reliability of the current forecasts ends; for the Easter and the Easter Monday the certainties (although in meteorology it is not correct to speak of certainties) are mostly two: it will be very hot in the South where the weather will be decidedly better than in the Centre-North, there will be showers in the North for Easter and in the Centre-North for Easter Monday.

Uncertainties remain on the position of the Spanish disturbance: if for Easter this trough remains rather in the West (between Spain and France) we will have showers only in the Italian North-West and in the night between Saturday and Sunday also in Upper Tuscany and the North-East ; if the trough moves a little more towards the East we could find showers over much of the Centre-North; in the South, whatever happens, Easter will be good and, imagine, with maximum temperatures that could reach 30-32°C!

Easter Monday o Easter Monday, like every year, seems full of instability: it could rain on the barbecue, especially in the Centre-North. Here too, however, we must foresee two main cases: with the Spanish disturbance stationary or very slow, we will have showers only in the North and at most in Tuscany and Upper Lazio; with the disturbance a little faster towards the East, we will find the umbrellas open over almost all of the Centre-North and from the afternoon also in the South.

Everything remains in the hands of the ‘Spanish’ disturbance, in its speed of movement towards the East: we hope that it will pleasantly prolong the ‘Siesta’ and that it will arrive in Italy perhaps from Tuesday next week, leaving Easter Monday and Easter Monday in the company of good weather prevailing and of the March sun first and then April.
