Smart hairdryers and self-cleaning vacuum cleaners: Dreame aims at Gen Z

Spring cleaning, that’s right. Dream Technologyin a conference entirely dedicated to Europe, presented in Hamburg the innovations arriving in the coming weeks and months: from household appliances for casa to those for the gardenpassing through an interesting innovation dedicated to drying for hair.

Is called Dream Pocket and is designed for those who travel often. Foldable, it finds compactness by giving in to the temptation of a slightly retro-futurist design, which however meets the user with two nozzles that are applied magnetically: one for motion blur (the upper wheel gives direction to the drying of the ringlet) e one for the smooth one. According to the tests carried out by the parent company, the laptop is fast not only to transport, but also to use: a 110 thousand rpm engine would allow dry short hair in 40 seconds and long in 4 minutes (available from 16 April, costs 159 euros).

“The hairdryer sector can give great satisfaction,” he told us Fabio D’Amore, country manager for Italy and Malta, which would like to promote communication in this direction: “If you go to sales points today, you will mainly find traditional hairdryers on display. We want to communicate and make the end user understand that technological innovation has arrived herenot only with the digital engine, but also with better energy efficiency.”

And in fact, alongside the new portable product, there is another striking hairdryer, already in the catalogue: è the Hair Glory model, which now has not only the nozzle for straight styling, but also the diffuser; Furthermore, 4 temperature settings that can be changed with a button linked to a rear LED display, and two speeds.

The Chinese company, founded in 2017, however owes its market to home automation for the home care, which it is trying to bring widely to stores after being born and consolidated online. The news for Europe are therefore above all those of the new models for the X series of robots: the X40 Ultra Complete (from 9 April, 1499 euros), the X40 Master (with charging station connected to the water system, from June at 1699 euros) and the X30 Ultra with MopExtend technologyfor low profile furniture and tricky corners and the anti-tangle TriCut brush.

For the European debut event he worked, in the garden of Villa Weltevreden in Wenthorf, the RoboticMower A1 lawnmower (1999 euros, but until April 18th a sort of garage for the robot worth 199 euros is included), which with omnidirectional obstacle detection sensors is capable of operating without boundary wires.

Returning to the interior, for wet and dry vacuuming the H13 Pro, with the self-cleaning brush placing the vacuum cleaner in the charging base. Once the heated wash has been carried out, the brush rotates at turbo speed for 30 minutes, removing excess water and completing the cycle with hot air drying. The price is 599 euros and the operation, in this case, is entrusted to GlideWheel technology, which gives a noticeable boost to movement on the floor. Moreover, Dreame Technology seems particularly fond of patents: according to what they explained to us, we are talking about 4256 patent applicationsof which 2206 have already been authorised.

The home cleaning technology sector in Europe, D’Amore explained to us, has homogeneous sectors, with some exceptions: “An example is the United Kingdomwhich deals a lot with machines dedicated to cleaning carpets, or the France, where the vacuum cleaner market is worth 3 times that of Italy, according to GFK. Here in some categories there is still a profound historical legacy.” Peculiarities that must be considered, net of a relaunch: “We want to consolidate the robot vacuum cleaner part, but I also see a great potential on floor cleaners, because the numbers are growing exponentially. Gen Z youth today want one product that does it all.”

Right, they must be able to afford it: “Obviously, but we have products for every price range. What we are recognized for is the value compared to the expense and the fact that the products are used a lot, a feedback we have thanks to the sale of detergents and accessories”.

Speaking of after-sales, good news coming for Italy: “From April 15th we will have a telephone number located in Italy (at the moment it is a toll-free number with an operator who speaks Italian, ed.) because, despite a very low number of products that break, if this happens the user must have an experience that is excellent and allows for a repaired product and returned within 5 days.”
