Dozens of young people from Burgas today immersed themselves in the dynamic world of medicine through a realistic simulation of an accident with a person injured in an earthquake and a demonstration of providing emergency aid using a specialized ambulance.
It was held in front of the International Youth Center in “Copper Mine” and was dedicated to Health Day.
The “victim” had an open wound in the abdomen and a broken leg, but luckily he was in contact and adequate. The “wounds” were bandaged with supplies to stop the bleeding until the EMS team arrived. Subsequently, the leg was fixed professionally and the young man was “delivered” to a medical facility, where he was taken care of by a medical team.
The initiative was entitled “Vocation: Health” and was aimed at the youth of Burgas to get to know each other and learn how to enroll in medical education.
Young people understood the characteristics, advantages and importance in the medical profession.
“The goal is for young people to become familiar with the importance of this profession and – God willing, if they wish, how they can acquire a medical education in Burgas. We showed how different teams of specialists should work and how much effort is actually needed to save a human life. It takes just as much effort for a person to enter the world of doctors and start saving lives on their own. First you have to go through the candidate exams, admission, 5 years of study and a few more years of proving, but I’m sure that every one of these people who have already gone through this path will say that it’s worth it. shared one of the main organizers of the event, Maria Popcheva from MMC.
“I hope young people will understand how satisfying it is to go to work where you save lives every day” said Iva Pehlivanska, chairman of the Union of Paramedics in Bulgaria.
The event took place in partnership with:
University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”, Association of Young Doctors – Burgas, Association of Paramedics in Bulgaria, Bulgarian Youth Red Cross – Burgas, Regional Health Inspection – Burgas and National Alliance of People with Rare Diseases.
The partner organizations presented the various medical supplies, talking about their role and importance in the process of diagnosis and treatment.
A raffle was held with prizes provided by the organizers.
