The family of Simeon of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha buried Prince Kardam in Vrana. The funeral was held a day before the anniversary of Kardam’s death – April 7. It was attended by Simeon II, Queen Margarita and close family members.
On the eve of the 9th anniversary of the death of Kardam, Prince of Turnovski, his mortal remains were transferred to Bulgarian soil in a close family circle.
The first-born son of King Simeon II and Queen Margarita will be laid to rest in the Royal Family Tomb in the crypt of the Orthodox Chapel “St. St. Tsar Boris and John of Rila the Miracle Worker” in the Royal Palace of Vrana, NOVA reported.
The first-born son of Simeon of Saxe-Coburg-Goth – Kardam Tarnovski died on April 7, 2015, after seven years in an awake coma in the Madrid “Sanchinaro” hospital.
In an accident on August 15, 2008, Kardam and his wife were seriously injured. Then their car goes off the road and hits a tree. Both were hospitalized, but Kardam suffered a severe brain injury and remained in a coma for seven years.
His body was brought to Sofia to be buried in the royal palace “Vrana” near his family.
Kardam Turnovski, the eldest son of Simeon of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, was born on December 2, 1962 in Madrid. He was the heir to the throne of the now defunct Bulgarian royal throne.
Prince Kardam graduated from the French Lyceum in the Spanish capital, then graduated from Philosophy and International Economics at Clark University in the USA. He received a degree in agricultural economics, specializing in agro-industry and water reclamation at the American Penn University in Pennsylvania.
In 1996, Cardam married the Spanish noblewoman Miriam Ungria y López, born on September 2, 1963 in Madrid. The wedding took place in the Orthodox Church of St. Andrew and Dimitar in Madrid, where in 1973 Prince Kardam represented his father at the laying of the first stone.
They have two sons – Prince Boris Turnovski, born on October 12, 1997, and Prince Beltran Turnovski, born on March 23, 1999
