The Salvadoran Football Federation (FESFUT) rejected the violation of broadcasting rights by a Salvadoran radio station, for having broadcast one of the matches of the FIFA date of the senior team, without having authorization from the football regulatory body, Therefore, he assured that he will act in accordance with Salvadoran legislation to “defend the rights of the affected parties.”
“FESFUT is obliged to act in accordance with Salvadoran legislation to protect the rights of the affected parties. “This decision reflects our commitment to legality, but also to justice and equity in the sporting environment,” the Federation said.
According to the sports entity, the federation extended an invitation to YSKL radio, as well as other stations, to participate in the bidding for the broadcasting rights of the matches against Bonaire, Argentina and Honduras that were played in March of this year. .
However, on March 8, the Federation claims that it reminded the radio station that the transmission rights were the exclusive property of the Federation, and that same day the radio station told the federation that it was not in the capacity to propose payment for the rights to broadcast the games, which made their broadcast impossible.
Two days before the match with Bonaire, the Federation told the radio station that they would not be able to broadcast the matches, since through publications on social networks it was announced at that time that they were going to broadcast the matches, but the media outlet told the institution that it was a mistake on social networks and assured that only the meeting would be commented on.
According to the federation, on March 27, an unauthorized broadcast of matches by YSKL was detected, an action contrary to the laws and regulations that govern broadcasting rights.
Through social networks, the radio station said that the president of the Federation Regularization Commission, Humberto Sáenz Marinero, warned the institution about broadcasting rights and pointed out that “he would teach us to respect”, something that the radio considered that “ “It demonstrates absurd ignorance and lack of judgment.” “We are all going to have to learn to respect. Unlike other radio stations, YSKL did not have radio broadcasting rights. She was invited to do it but she gave up. These transgressions harm the process of preparing selections for which he will have to be held responsible,” Sáenz wrote in X.
