Good news for those who don’t want to see link previews on WhatsApp

WhatsApp gives you more power over how links are shared. Many people find it useful that a link is previewed: this way you already know what to expect. But there are also people who prefer not to have those previews turned on, because they want more privacy. The latter category used to have no choice, but that is now going to change.

Link previews on WhatsApp

Link previews on WhatsApp ensure that when someone puts a URL in the chat, an image and the beginning of the page in text can already be seen. This way you know what to expect when you click on the link. Very useful, but at the same time not everyone wants it. For example, some people find it annoying that large blocks arise in the chat, because they take up a lot of space on your screen.

It does not matter whether it is a link that you share yourself or is shared by someone else.

Still in beta now
