Ice hockey: Chaotic when Brynäs took on Karlskoga in the SHL qualifiers

The referee duo Stefan Johansson and Filip Sandstedt had to take twelve two-minute expulsions during the last 83 seconds of the match – five for Brynäs and seven for Karlskoga.

In terms of goals, 4–1 meant that Brynäs took their second straight victory at home and leads 2–0 ahead of the next two games in Karlskoga.

– I think we are better with the puck today, then they are sharp in their power play. That’s what matters, says Karlskoga’s coach Dennis Hall to TV4 Play.

Fatal expulsion for Plato

Brynäs scored their first two goals in numerical superiority through Anton Rödin, after barely half the match, and Jack Kopacka at the beginning of the third period.

At the 2–0 goal, Hampus Plato was in the penalty box when he took a fatal penalty for roughing in connection with the final whistle of the second period.

“A great match”

Then Brynäs’ American success forward added 3–0.

The top scorer from the regular season, 33 goals, continues to pour in the playoffs, where he now has five hits.

– I play with very good players, so credit to them. It was a great match by us, nice to go up 2-0 in matches, says Kopacka.

Hampus Plato reduced with the goalkeeper picked out, but Miks Indrasis closed the match with 4-1 in an empty cage before arguments and gruff took over until the final whistle.

The next match is played in Karlskoga on Friday.

In the second semi-final series, Djurgården leads over Mora with 1–0. The second match is played in Stockholm on Thursday.
