Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Pro Leak: Could Feature Record-Breaking Battery Capacity

  • The leaked image suggests that the Galaxy Watch 7 Pro will get an above-average battery
  • The battery capacity could theoretically exceed the 600 mAh mark
  • Current competitors in terms of endurance are only OnePlus and TickWatch

One of the pain points of most smartwatches is their battery life. In general, the equation is that the smarter the watch, the shorter the battery life. Only a few manufacturers managed to create an ideal compromise between smart functions and durability, and South Korean Samsung is one of them. Back in the days when his smart watches used the Tizen system, he offered users a relatively long life and at the same time did not deprive them too much of smart functions. Samsung also wants to take care of long battery life in the new era with Wear OS, at least according to the latest information.

The Galaxy Watch 7 Pro will most likely get an above-average battery

These indicate that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Pro could have one of the largest batteries in the Wear OS watch segment. After introducing the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in 2023, Samsung is set to return to the Pro-branded variant, last seen with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. And it looks like the Galaxy Watch 7 Pro will have a battery very comparable to the 2022 model. According to a leaked image attributed to South Korea’s security regulator, this mysterious battery (labeled EB-BL705ABY) has a capacity of 578 mAh, which is about slightly more than the 573 mAh in the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

Samsung later launched the Watch 5 Pro with a 590 mAh battery, which could mean the 7 Pro could break the 600 mAh mark. In real use, this could mean up to three days of battery life, which would not be bad at all for a smart watch with an open operating system. Currently, the only Wear OS watches that promise high endurance are the OnePlus Watch 2 (500 mAh) and the TicWatch Pro 5 (628 mAh), but they have their negatives.

First information about the Galaxy Watch 7: Samsung is preparing three different variants

We won’t know until the end of the summer whether the Galaxy Watch 7 Pro will join the two models with the longest endurance on the Wear OS platform. However, the available information matches what is expected from Samsung, so it is very likely that the South Korean giant will indeed equip its upcoming premium model with a battery with an above-average capacity.
