London –
Erik ten Hag highlighting the penalty that sparked the comeback Chelsea. Manager Manchester United it called the penalty too cheap because of minimal contact.
MU lost dramatically with a score of 3-4 when they visited Stamford Bridge, Friday (5/4/2024) early morning WIB, in the Premier League continuation. The ‘Red Devils’ performed brilliantly to reverse the position after conceding two quick goals.
A pair of Alejandro Garnacho goals and a Bruno Fernandes goal changed the score to 3-2, which lasted until injury time. However, in the final minutes before the final whistle, MU conceded two goals.
Chelsea’s first goal in injury time, which equalized the score, came from the penalty spot. Diogo Dalot was passed by Noni Madueke and then fell behind the Chelsea player.
Unfortunately for him, he nudged Madueke’s leg from behind. VAR also confirmed that the violation deserved a penalty, although Ten Hag somewhat disagreed.
“Without the ball, we made bad decisions, lacked concentration,” Ten Hag told TNT Sports quoted Football365.
“Also, I think (Chelsea) were lucky at the end of the match with the penalty situation. It was a questionable penalty and very cheap, but we also have to defend better.”
“For sure this is a setback and now we have to overcome this defeat and recover, we are a determined team and it showed today,” he added.
