On April 4, the Russian game “Smuta”, created by the developer Cyberia Nova with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO IRI), became available on the VK Play platform.
“Troubles” is a single-player adventure game in the setting of 17th century Rus’. As part of the gameplay, users can visit Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl and become a direct participant in the events of the Time of Troubles. The plot of the game is based on the novel “Yuri Miloslavsky, or the Russians in 1612” by Mikhail Zagoskin, published in 1829.
“Our project is, first of all, a story-based game with a deep immersion in history, traditions, and atmosphere. The goal is to increase interest in the study of history, but to make it fun, interesting, and native. We want our game to become an additional tool for education and the formation of a patriotic worldview. A complete completion of the game will take about 40 hours. The main educational component in the game will be the Codex – a built-in updated historical encyclopedia. The knowledge collected by the player is accumulated there. And they appear when you first become acquainted with a word or term. If I found a berdysh, it immediately appears in the Codex,” said Alexey Koptsev, game designer of the “Smuta” project.
The historical festival “Troubles” is timed to coincide with the release of the game. Heroes of the era.” It will be held from April 5 to 7 in the Nizhny Novgorod Manege and on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, where the events of the game take place.
