Salomón Rondón has become such a guide for Pachuca’s offense that he has now almost assured his team’s qualification for the Concachampions semifinals. The Venezuelan now scored a hat trick as the Tuzos beat Costa Rican Herediano 5-0 in the first leg of the quarterfinals.
With the victory as a visitor, Pachuca now calmly prepares to finish the series next week when it receives the Costa Rican team at home.
The Mexican Hector Pity Altamirano, one of the tricolors who migrated to Central America in search of an opportunity as a helmsman, aspired to surprise the Hidalgo team, but Rondón had no qualms about unleashing his potential as a scorer.
Just three minutes into the game, the Venezuelan scored the first goal with a shot from outside the area next to the left post.
The early goal allowed the Tuzos to disarm Herediano and in the 16th minute they increased the score. Rondón was the protagonist of the second goal after receiving a pass from Bryan González and scoring from the center of the area.
Despite the advantage, Pachuca was not satisfied and Rondón scored another goal in the 68th minute. Alexei Dominguez (55′) and Alan Bautista (90′) completed the scoring just to demonstrate their potential as a team.
