The “Sustainable Health” program hosts Dr. Radwa Farghaly, a specialist in psychological illness and marital relations, opened the file on the love of money and the extent of its impact on human relationships.
A recent medical study: The love of money may lead to health problems
One British medical study indicated that it was found that at least one in every five families suffers from health problems because of money.
The researchers called the group of accompanying symptoms “sick money syndrome,” which includes rapid heartbeat, sleep disturbances, loss of appetite for food, and weak sexual desire. Such disturbances appear clearly when financial matters become out of control.
According to that study, the researchers divided people according to their relationship with money into three groups. The first: those who think about money all day and night, and when checking the bank account, their members suffer from rapid heartbeat, tension, anger, and digestive disorders. As for the second group: it includes people who suffer from anxiety. Stress when buying valuable things, and physical and psychological disorders increase in the last days of the month, when they discover that their balance has decreased.
The third group includes people who do not think about money much, do not suffer from stress when reviewing the monthly bank account, and do not show symptoms of anxiety or tension.
Experts advise not to hesitate to consult a doctor when exposed to sick money syndrome, in order to reduce its negative effects on the body’s health.
Finally, we point out that most psychologists have stated that happiness cannot be bought with money, and that money may build the most luxurious palaces, but it does not provide the true happiness that a poor person living in a small house may enjoy.
