/ world today news/ ❗️ Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPR regarding the evacuation of the crews of foreign ships from Mariupol
After the liberation of the port of Mariupol, the immediate evacuation of the crews of the foreign ships previously blocked by the Ukrainian armed formations became a priority for the military of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
On April 11, 47 crew members were evacuated, including citizens of Russia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Syria and Ukraine.
Today, the People’s Militia of the DPR, together with the Russian armed forces, evacuated 15 crew members of the cargo ship “Tsarevna”: among them 14 citizens of the Republic of Bulgaria and one citizen of Ukraine.
The foreign sailors are currently in Donetsk, with the authorities of the Republic providing them with all the necessary support, hotel accommodation and food.
For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPR has started all the necessary procedures to organize the departure of the evacuated sailors to the countries they are from.
in addition, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPR are already delivering the sailors to the Russian Federation with a view to their return home, as the necessary documents are being processed.
We thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Border Service of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for their prompt assistance in this process.
Together with our Russian colleagues, we intend to do everything possible to return all citizens evacuated from the port of Mariupol to their families and friends as soon as possible.
