President Noboa creates the Crisis Management Committee – 2024-04-04 00:03:06

Through decree 213, the President authorized the creation of a committee specialized in crisis.

The National Government will have a specialized Committee on Crisis Management. This is what the president ordered Daniel Noboa after the signing of decree number 213, signed this March 28, 2024.

This body will be in charge of coordinating and uniting inter-institutional actions within the Government to provide responses in the midst of a security crisis.

Additionally, through this committee, the scenarios and main response actions to solve these crises will be reviewed.

“The main objective is to safeguard the interests of society and guarantee the operational continuity of the State.” Indicates the statement from the National Government.

This committee is created exclusively for security crises that may occur within Ecuadorian soil. The resolution contains the provisions of powers, composition and responsibilities of its members.

This body will be made up of:

The President of the Republic, or his delegate, who will preside over it and will have the casting vote.

The head coordinator of the bodies that make up the public and State security system.

The head of citizen security, internal protection and public order.

The head of the governing entity of national defense.

The head of the governing entity for governance and political management.

The head of the National Intelligence System.

The head of the National Service for Attention to Persons Deprived of Liberty.

According to The Telegraphthese authorities will send their delegates in case those who will make up this Crisis Committee cannot appear.

In accordance with the provisions of the decree, it will not require the allocation or disbursement of additional public resources by the governing body of public finances.
