Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Samsung will soon launch a duo of cheap cellphones, the Galaxy M15 and Galaxy M55 in the near future. The release schedule has been announced via a teaser poster, namely on April 8 2024 in India.
Previously, the Galaxy M15 had already appeared on the official Samsung website in Iraq and several Levant regions in March 2023. Meanwhile, the Galaxy M55 was officially launched in Brazil last week.
This series boasts an OLED screen and jumbo battery capacity. Each in the entry-level class for the Galaxy M15 and mid-range for the Galaxy M55.
Reportedly, the Galaxy M15 in India will be priced at 13,499 rupees (Rp. 2.5 million). It is rumored that the Galaxy M55 will be priced at 26,999 rupees (Rp. 5.1 million).
Samsung Galaxy M15 5G specifications
The Samsung Galaxy M15 has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. This cellphone has a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
Then, the main camera is 50MP, accompanied by a 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro camera, quoted from Sammobile, Wednesday (3/4/2024).
The Galaxy M15 is powered by the Dimensity 6100+ chipset, paired with 4GB/6GB RAM options. The storage is 128Gb and can be expanded using the microSD slot.
The battery is jumbo with a capacity of 6,000 mAh and supports 25W fast charging.
This cellphone also has a fingerprint scanner on the side and runs on the Android 14 operating system with the One UI 6.1 interface.
Samsung Galaxy M55 specifications
On the other hand, the more premium Samsung Galaxy M55 comes with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ screen and FHD+ resolution. The refresh rate is 120Hz and the brightness level can be up to 1,000 nits.
The battery is smaller with a capacity of 5,000 mAh and support for 45W fast charging. This cellphone has ‘luxury’ features such as stereo speakers and a fingerprint scanner embedded under the screen.
The Galaxy M55 has a 50MP selfie camera, similar to the 50MP main camera. The main camera is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera.
Video recording can be up to 4k resolution at 30fps. The front and rear cameras are equipped with EIS stabilization technology.
Regarding the innards, the Galaxy M55 relies on Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The RAM capacity is larger with 8GB/12GB options. The storage can also be selected as 128GB/256GB.
This cellphone runs on the One UI 6.1 operating system based on Android 14. Both affordable cellphones from Samsung are promised to receive operating system updates for up to 4 years.
