According to Prime Minister Orpo, the case drags on. He said he was shocked by the age of the shooter and the victims.
– In the coming days, children and young people will need presence and care and a comforting hug, Orpo said.

Evaluation of follow-up later
Orpo assured that the authorities and school staff do everything they can every day to prevent something like this from happening.
Interior Minister Rantanen thanked the authorities for their quick action in the shooting incident. He reminded that the police do significant preventive work and have succeeded in preventing similar cases.
According to Rantanen, it is too early to take a position on what measures should be taken following the incident. He emphasized that the investigation is still in the early stages.
– If things to be improved are discovered later, naturally these will be done, Rantanen said.
Rantanen mentioned that there are already detailed regulations on the storage and possession of weapons in the legislation.
