Students protest as registration fees increase at Esad-Talm School of Fine Arts in Angers

Registration fees are increasing and an entire school is in turmoil. Since February 19, 2024, the day the board of directors of the Tours-Angers-Le Mans (Esad-Talm) Higher School of Fine Arts in Angers (Maine-et-Loire) voted to increase prices, students from the establishment are mobilizing against the decision.

By 2025, registration fees – the lowest – in schools in Angers, Le Mans (Sarthe) and Tours (Indre-et-Loire), will increase by €200. For foreign students, outside the European Union, the bill will be even higher: €700 increase.

“We remain mobilized”

To protest, the disgruntled slept inside the school for several days. Although the nighttime occupation is no longer relevant today, the anger has not subsided.

“We continue the general meetings, specifies a student from the internal union at the Angevin Le Massicot school. And we remain mobilized on this issue. »

A online petition is also still active. It gathered more than 1,800 signatures.
