VALÈNCIA (VP/EFE). The Consell has approved the appointment of Jose Manuel Camarero Benitez as General Director of Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana.
In this way, José Manuel Camarero, brother of the second vice president of the Consell Susana Camarero, joins the management of the Turisme Comunitat Valenciana entity. A psychologist by training, the new DG of Tourism has extensive experience in the tourism sector, the last seven years as director of the marketing area of the Visit València Foundation. In fact, his professional career has been linked to marketing in other entities such as Paradores de Turismo, SA or the Marina d’Or Group.
During his time at Visit València he has led the foundation’s marketing strategy, as well as all direct channels of relations and sales with tourists, the tourist offices, app, chat, web, global sales of the foundation and networks. social, in addition to the universal accessibility strategy. On the other hand, his experience has also focused on leading the implementation of innovation and digitalization tools in marketing and technologies for relating and attracting tourists, as well as in the management of European projects.
This appointment occurs after the Valencian Government ceased to Esther Labaig as general director of Tourism, as published on December 22 in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana, although the dismissal decree was approved by the plenary session of the Consell the previous Tuesday – which was not reported in the list of matters ratified that day – to proposal from the Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
It specified that the dismissal occurred at Labaig’s own request, who was thanked for the services provided since she was appointed on August 4 by the plenary session of the regional Executive.
This Tuesday the Consell also approved the appointment of Juan Salvador Oliver
Castellano as president of the School Council after the cessation of Rosa Julia Canada in the renewal of the organ.
