Cold shower for homeowners! The warning – 2024-04-02 17:27:58

The building panels are a mesh of rebar and poured concrete on top. They have different functions and types – floor, wall, facade (the latter do not have a load-bearing function). They are produced in the so-called home-building plants (over 30 throughout Bulgaria) and are transported to the construction site with a panel truck.

They are lifted by cranes and assembled by welding the steel elements protruding from the panel to those of the other panels. Then the contact areas are filled with various concrete solutions, and on top they are hermetically sealed with an elastic material.

During the times of socialism, the neighborhoods of all major cities in Bulgaria were built in exactly this way, and in a record short time.

Specialists who participated in the construction of panel houses say that under socialism there was an ordinance in which the depreciation period of the prefabricated panel blocks was set at 70 years. But in many places you will come across an expiration date of 50 years, and in others 100 years.

“Ultimately, it is impossible to demolish these blocks because there is no resource with which to compensate the people. Therefore, the only thing that can be done is to extend their life by rehabilitating and improving the environment in order to improve the urban infrastructure, say experts quoted by Economic.bg.

The housing market has always been an interesting and hot topic, but it makes a special impression that at times when the economy is uncertain and people are not so boldly investing their money in buying a property, the sector is trying to convince us that everything is fine now , and only now we have to buy a home, because tomorrow will be too late,” they added.
