The Cuban singer Haydée Milanés announced with great enthusiasm how she is going to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the beginning of her artistic career, which arrives next month.
This April 5, Pablo Milanés’ daughter celebrates 20 years since the release of her first album as a soloist, an occasion that she decided to celebrate in style, with a special concert in the city of Miami.
The singer will perform on the most emblematic stage for Cubans in the ‘City of the Sun’, none other than the Flamingo Theater Bar, where, as she told her followers, she plans a show that will be unforgettable.
Milanés daughter debuted in 2004, with her first album simply titled Haydéea production in which the Cuban singer and composer Descemer Bueno was involved, and which featured recordings between Havana and New York.
This first material not only launched Haydée as a soloist, but also established a milestone in her career, as she not only succeeded thanks to her father’s previous fame, but also received a warm reception from both the public and critics.
The album was distinguished by its collaboration with important music figures from Cuba, the United States, and even Africa, including Cuban guitarist Amhed Barroso, Roberto Carcasés, and Kelvis Ochoa, who at that time was part of the group Habana Abierta.
Now, two decades later, Haydée Milanés is preparing to take the stage in a reunion with her roots and her audience, in a presentation that will probably also feature several special guests, although she has not yet revealed them all.
The only one we have a clue about, at the moment, is Kelvis Ochoa, whose presence was revealed by the singer herself in an emotional message on social networks.
“One of my special guests is my dearest Kelvis Ochoa, with whom I have had the joy of sharing music since my beginnings!!! We have nice surprises for you at this concert,” said Haydée.
Ochoa, for his part, told his countryman what an honor it was for him to be the only one invited to sing on his first album.
Haydée has also shared several videos where she tells what the production process of her album was like, where she mentioned, among other details, the inspiration she got walking across the Brooklyn Bridge with Descemer before going to the studio.
