Gaming brand Red Magic has introduced a new cooler for portable gaming enthusiasts called Cooler 5 Pro Mounts to the back of a wide range of phones to provide additional cooling.
The Nubia brand specializes in games, although it has also branched out into manufacturing accessories for computers and mobile phones.
The accessory supports MagSafe magnetic attachment, and it also comes with a back clip, making it compatible with almost all smartphones.
The new Red Magic cooler features AI-powered thermal control that adapts to the device temperature with a liquid-cooled vapor chamber radiator and rotating fan.
This feature is available through the Android app, which means iPhone owners will not get automatic adjustments.
This is not the company’s first smartphone cooler, although it says that adding liquid cooling improves performance by 50 percent.
The company claims that the new cooler is capable of reducing the temperature of the smartphone by up to 35 degrees Celsius to temperatures as low as minus 12 degrees Celsius.
Red Magic says the cooler is able to lower the phone’s temperature from 28°C to 0°C in just 30 seconds.
The cooler itself measures 66mm x 59mm x 28mm, weighs 100g, and features a 7-blade, 5,500 RPM fan and a thermoelectric radiator.
The fan spins at up to 5,500 rpm, although its noise never exceeds 35 decibels.
The cooler does not contain a battery for autonomous operation, so it must be connected either to the phone or to an external charger.
Red Magic sells the Cooler 5 Pro at a price of 60 euros without the back clip and 64 euros with the clip, and is available in all regions where Red Magic operates from April 15.
