Arson attack at the FdI Rieti headquarters, ‘they don’t intimidate us’

(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 01 – Using a rudimentary trigger placed on the entrance door, unknown persons tried to set fire to the Rieti headquarters of Fratelli d’Italia last night which also houses the parliamentary secretariat of the deputy commissioner, Paolo Trancassini . Alerted by the smoke and smell, some neighbors contacted the firefighters and the police. The trigger, as some FdI representatives explain, did not cause serious damage, only a lot of smoke and burning of the seals and lining of the armored door. The initial fire was put out by firefighters. “After the defamatory writing on the headquarters plaque, the intimidating acts in full ’70s’ style against our party continue”, states the provincial coordinator of FdI, Matteo Carrozzoni. “Thanking the group leader in the Chamber of Deputies Tommaso Foti for his solidarity with our coordination and with the deputy Paolo Trancassini, who has his parliamentary secretariat there, we firmly condemn the infamous gesture and the attempt on the part of those who refuse the confrontation democratic, to lead us back to a climate of hatred and violence that no one wants to dig up”, underlines Carrozzoni. “We will continue to work with determination and with our heads held high, without being intimidated by such ignoble gestures”, says Trancassini. The President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, also expresses “firm condemnation for the vile act of intimidation”. “On my personal behalf and on behalf of the Regional Council, the utmost closeness and solidarity extend to the community of the Rieti party and to my friend Paolo Trancassini”, concludes Rocca. “Full solidarity with Paolo Trancassini and the entire Fratelli d’Italia community of Rieti for the intimidating act that targeted their headquarters and which confirms the worsening of a dangerous climate reported several times”, also states the Minister of Agriculture , of Food Sovereignty and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida.
