Easter in Salerno, the big flop of the tourist city

An Easter with a full house but full of bad impressions. Not only with tourists but also with the many citizens of Salerno who found themselves faced with a series of truly unexpected disservices and which, certainly, do not give prestige to the “Tourist Salerno” much praised by the institutions. The long holiday weekend has exposed all the problems of the capital between a public transport service which works in fits and starts, busier areas which can only be partially used and, more generally, a lack of services which penalizes customers but also those who live in the city of Arechi every day.

It had been clear for some time that there would be inconveniences in the city when traveling by coach: BusItalia had already announced a few weeks ago that the vehicles would remain completely stationary at Easter while yesterday they would observe the holiday timetable, therefore circulating on a half-service basis. But the whole system went haywire: On Sunday, in fact, due to sea conditions, the ferries heading to Italy remained stopped Amalfi Coast, thus forcing tourists to storm the (few) available buses heading towards the Divina. At the stops at the train station as well as in the centers of the Costa Diva, therefore, the usual scenes of “gatherings” of people looking for a way to return home or to the hotel were repeated. A situation that was repeated, in part, yesterday when at least the ferries heading to Amalfi managed to dock.
