(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 01 APR – Shortly before 5pm, the section between Pontebba and Carnia, in the direction of Udine, was reopened on the A23 Udine-Tarvisio, activating a diversion lane onto the opposite carriageway (which had been reopened at around 12pm) , after the landslide event at kilometer 64 which this morning required the temporary complete closure of the section. At the site of the event, at the moment, traffic passes on one lane in each direction. The measure was adopted, after the completion of the road restoration operations, as a precaution, pending the definition, in agreement with the local authorities with which Autostrade per l’Italia has been in contact since the early hours of today, the interventions necessary for the definitive safety of the landslide front. The area, in fact, is outside the competence of Aspi. The largest boulder that stuck in the center of the road weighed about 15 tons. Currently, traffic is regular and weather conditions are improving. An increase in vehicles heading towards the state border is expected for the return of Austrian and German holidaymakers from the Easter holidays. (HANDLE).
