1. FC Köln is struggling in the fight against relegation, but scores points in the 1-1 draw against Augsburg in their fifth away game.

The draw doesn’t do much good for both teams. Augsburg with national players Ruben Vargas and Kevin Mbabu is tied back in the fight for a European Cup place. Cologne remains second to last, one point behind Mainz. Augsburg also missed a club record of 5 Bundesliga wins in a row.
The 1-0 lead for the hosts was partly a Swiss co-production: Mbabu threw in a long throw, the ball came to Vargas via Phillip Tietz, who launched Arne Maier perfectly. After 18 minutes, Augsburg was still on course for a record. However, Cologne’s Davie Selke had something against it. After a good half hour he equalized. The score remained 1-1 despite Augsburg’s clear superiority.
Spectacle near Stuttgart – Heidenheim
VfB was 2-0 ahead against the newly promoted team. Then Stuttgart keeper Alexander Nübel scored a slapstick own goal. This inspired the guests, who turned the game around with a brace from Tim Kleindienst (84th/85th). It wasn’t enough for Heidenheim to win – Deniz Undav made it 3-3 (98th).
