Kylian Mbappe’s Worst Match: PSG Striker Subbed Out in 2-0 Win Over Marseille

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe played one of his worst matches in the French League, when his team was a guest of Marseille in the “El Clásico”, which was held at the Velodrome Stadium, the club’s southern stronghold, and ended with Saint-Germain winning 2-0.
The world champion, who won the 2018 World Cup in Russia, deserved the decision taken by Spanish coach Luis Enrique to change him in the 65th minute.
The Monte Carlo Sport Radio and Television Network reported that Mbappé’s threat was non-existent in the match, and he did not shoot any dangerous ball on goal, and Marseille defender Ulises Garcia succeeded in stopping his threat completely, with the help of his teammates Chancel Mbemba and Jordan Vertout.
The “Hoscord” website, which specializes in numbers and statistics, stated that Mbappe touched the ball only 31 times, and lost it 12 of them, which is the second weakest score in the match, after his teammate Randall Kolo Mwani, who touched the ball 16 times, and Mbappe, Saint-Germain’s all-time top scorer, also recorded the weakest score. His team made successful passes (70% with a success rate of 14 out of 20), which is almost the same percentage that he achieved during the France national team’s two friendly matches against Germany and Chile.
Although Enrique raised doubts and manipulated Mbappe’s nerves before the match, when he refused to say whether he would start him in the match, the coach ended up starting him and in his preferred position, “the left wing”, as if he did not want to give him any excuse or excuse not to Excellence, yet Mbappe did not pose any goal threat.
The expulsion of defender Lucas Peraldo in the 40th minute imposed more isolation on Mbappe, even though Marseille’s pressure to score was supposed to help give him more space to run.
Monte Carlo Sport Network said that the lackluster performance of the last World Cup top scorer was behind Enrique’s well-deserved decision to remove him in the 65th minute, and include Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos in his place, and the latter succeeded in adding the second goal for Saint-Germain five minutes before the end of the match.
Some informed sources reported that Mbappé seemed very angry when he was substituted, and he came out muttering unclear words, although some of them interpreted them as “insults and curses,” and that he posted on his Instagram account some pictures of him leaving the stadium without comment, and left it to the Internet pioneers. The comment, as “The Post” collected a million views between supporters and opponents in just the first hour.
