Possible Murder in Oslo: Police Arrest Suspect at Scene of Crime

The police are at an address in Oslo in connection with what appears to be a possible murder, operations manager Bjarne Pedersen told the press shortly before 4am on Monday.

The police have arrested a person who was at the scene when the police arrived.

– We received a message just after 03:00, Pedersen tells Dagbladet.

The police’s incident leader at the scene, Arve Røtterud, tells NTB that a man has been arrested, while the dead person is a woman. The police do not know the relationship between the two. They are also working to notify next of kin.

According to Røtterud, there have been no witnesses to the incident.

– We have been in contact with the neighboring apartments, but no one has brought anything special, so we don’t have much more information at the moment, says the task leader.

Operations manager Pedersen does not want to say anything about how they got word of the incident.

– It is a bit early to say anything about, he says to Dagbladet.

At around 4.30am, the police’s crime technicians arrived at the scene, writes NTB.

– The apartment has been seized, which we also believe was used to carry out the murder, says the task leader.
