You may have heard of Craig Wright. The Australian has been claiming for years that he is none other than Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin (BTC).
In a recent lawsuit filed by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), the judge determined that Wright is not in fact Satoshi Nakamoto. Now the judge has also ruled that Wright’s bank accounts must be frozen.

Court takes measures against fake bitcoin inventor
After the court ruled against Wright, moved Wright fast money from UK to Singapore. This action raised concerns and COPA asked the judge to freeze Wright’s assets.
“This understandably raised serious concerns from COPA that Dr. Wright took steps to avoid costs and consequences after losing in court,” the judge said.
Yesterday I issued a global freezing order (‘WFO’) for the sum of £6 million based on an application brought by COPA against Dr Craig Wright.”
COPA’s costs in the lawsuit have now risen to more than $8 million. Wright therefore seems to want to avoid these costs.
COPA was founded in 2020 and consists of 33 members who want to promote the development of crypto technology. Members include Coinbase, Meta, MicroStrategy, Uniswap and Worldcoin.
What is Craig “faketoshi” Wright doing?
Although almost no one believes him, Wright didn’t stop. He filed numerous lawsuits against people and organizations who said they did not believe him.
In April 2021, COPA sued Wright. Earlier this month, on March 14, the judge ruled that the evidence “clearly establishes that Wright is not Nakamoto.”
What drives Wright is unclear, and why he is so eager to have the world believe he is Satoshi Nakamoto is a mystery. With the judge’s recent ruling, we can hope that he will keep a low profile for the time being.
