Stockholm: Swedish people cancel Easter celebrations in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Thousands of Palestinian supporters protested in the capital city of Stockholm. The protest was chanting slogans that Israel is a murderer who commits war crimes in Gaza.
Pro-Palestinian supporters also chanted slogans such as free Palestine and end Israel’s occupation in Sweden.
International media also reported that more than 5,000 protesters gathered in Sweden’s Odenplan on Saturday to demand an end to Israel’s violence in Gaza.
This protest was following the call of non-governmental organizations. The protest rally raised slogans like children being killed in Gaza and ending the genocide in Palestine forever.
In addition to this, writer and activist Samuel Girma, who participated in the rally, said that Israel should not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden on May 11.
“Israel is not eligible to participate in Eurovision. A country that commits murder and genocide cannot participate in a music competition. Israel is a genocidal country,’ Girma told Anadolu.
At the same time, Israel banned Palestinian Christians from celebrating Easter in Jerusalem. The Israeli army imposed a ban on Christians of Palestinian origin.
200 Christian leaders from the occupied West Bank were allowed to enter Jerusalem. But the Israeli army said it would not allow members of the congregation.
