Kristof Michiels (DJ 4T4) leaves ‘t Hof van Commerce. After 26 years in the West Flemish hip-hop group, he wants to focus on other projects. Flip Kowlier and Serge Buyse continue as a duo and are finishing a new album.

The country’s best-known rap group announced the news on social media. There, Flip Kowlier and Serge Buyse said goodbye to Kristof Michiels, aka DJ 4T4, with due respect. He has been behind the turntable since the breakthrough and contributed to hits such as ‘Kom mor ip’, ‘Dommestik & Levrancier’ and ‘Jaloes’.

“After careful consideration, I have decided, without further delay, to leave ‘t Hof van Commerce and to focus on my activities as a filmmaker, party DJ and artist,” Michiels said. “It was certainly not an easy decision, but I think it was the right one. I am happy to say that I can count on Serge and Flip’s understanding. It was 26 fantastic years with a truckload of bucket list moments that I will never forget and that I look back on with love and pride.”

His exit does not mean the end, say Kowlier and Buyse. “’t Hof van Commerce is going through life as a duo again, just like in the early days. What’s more, there will be a new album very soon.” Last summer the group celebrated the 25th anniversary of their debut album En in Izzegem with two concerts in Kortrijk.
