I. Timinskiene became the champion of the Baltic countries, U. Timinskas won bronze

Last weekend, on January 13-14, more than a hundred archers gathered in Ventspils (Latvia), aiming to win the title of the archery champion of the Baltic countries. This time athletes from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia started in the competition, shooting in groups of Olympic, pulley, simple, long and traditional bows. 4 representatives of the Alytus archery club “Žaliasis lankas” also competed for the title of the champion of the Baltic countries – Inga Timinskienė, Giedrius Kavaliauskas, Gintaras Sakalauskas and Ugnius Timinskas.

I. Timinskienė, who secured the leading position in the women’s group of pulley hoops in the qualifying competition, did not leave any chances to her competitors in the playoffs – in the semi-finals, she defeated the representative of Ventspils, Anna Savčukas (143:133), and in the finals, she also defeated another archer from Ventspils, Sanita Lasmanė (144:142) and became the winner of this competition and for the second time in a row, the indoor archery champion of the Baltic countries.

U. Timinskas took 6th place, G. Kavaliauskas – 9th, and G. Sakalauskas – 11th in the qualifying competition of the men’s curling hoops group. The playoffs were the best for Ugnis Timinskas, who only lost to the Estonian archer Everts Ressar in the semi-finals. In the small final, the representative of Lithuania celebrated his victory and was happy with the bronze medal he won. Giedrius Kavaliauskas returned from the championship of the Baltic countries with 7th place, Gintaras Sakalauskas settled for 9th.

In the near future, representatives of “Žaliasis lankas” will compete in tournaments held in Alytus, as well as actively prepare for the upcoming Lithuanian indoor archery championship.
