The El Salvador team tied against the Bonaire team this Wednesday night, in the first match of the FIFA date, which left David Dóniga’s team, which has accumulated 19 defeats, with bitter feelings.
El Salvador played a first half where Melvin Cartagena, Nathan Ordaz and Nelson Bonilla became the players with the most movement in the Bonaire area, with different arrivals that could, but were not effective, to give the blue and white the advantage.
A premature play at 2′, with the first shot at the rivals’ goal, was put by Cartagena, but the ball deflected outside the goal.
This action was even for the rival team, which after five generated one of the few it had with the arrival of Tomás Romero at the goal, which was also not effective.
Around 8′, Cartagena appeared again. The feathered boxer received a backward ball and tried to send it to the goal, but the ball refused and thus denied Dóniga’s team the first.
The quarter of an hour was played between the blue and white and the Netherlands team, in which it was possible to notice an El Salvador with control of the ball and with the intention of getting ahead on the scoreboard to a greater extent from the front but without effectiveness .
The clearest shot of the match came from Diego Flores, at 26′, in a goal that seemed Olympic after the corner but the ball hit the crossbar and fell to the boundary line.
The actions continued in the 32nd minute where a center into the six-yard box Nelson Bonilla headed in, but there was no blue and white player to finish the ball into the net.
At 38′, a corner ended up at the feet of Ordaz, who from the front sent a shot directly at the goal, but the goalkeeper kept the ball and in the shot Bonilla could not juggle to send the ball in. Continuously, around the 40th minute, Darwin Cerén sent a shot from outside the area but the goalkeeper deflected it.
An error by goalkeeper Oscar Pleitez condemned the team in the 62nd minute and after the pass from the Athlone AFC player, Isidro Metapán’s goalkeeper could not control the ball and it went into the back of the net.
The hero of the night for the blue and white was Pablo Punyed, who after losing by an own goal found the ball in the air in the 68th minute and headed it in to make it 1-1.
