Greece is once again at the bottom of the EU in terms of labor costs, as, based on the data of 2023, it is included in the second “cheapest” zone of the European ranking.
It is recalled that the position of the country is similar – according to Eurostat– in terms of GDP. It is second to last in the ranking.

And to think that the Mitsotakis government is planning even lower labor costs by importing immigrants from third countries.
Greece 23rd among the “27”
According to Eurostat, Greece with an hourly labor cost of 15.7 euros ranks in 23rd in position among EU countriesfar below the European average of 24 euros.
Based on hourly labor costs, Greece ranks in the zone of European countries with prices between 15 and 20 euros.
In the first and most “expensive” zone of countries with an hourly labor cost above 45 euros are the Luxembourg (53.9 euros), h Norway (51.9 euros), and the Belgium (47.1 euros).
In the lower zone of countries with costs below 15 euros, are found the Bulgaria (9.3 euros), h Romania (11 euros), the Hungary (12.8 euros), h Croatian (14.4 euros) and Polisha (14.5 euros).
Within the euro area, hourly labor costs increased in all countries. The largest increases were recorded in Croatian (+14.2%), at Lithuania (+12.4%) and in Estonia (+11,7%).
