The first round of the 2024 Clausura Tournament in the Women’s League ended, and Alianza and Jocoro finished leaders of their respective groups, and are positioned as the main candidates to compete for the title. This weekend the sixth date on the calendar will be played with the Migueleño derby, Águila Vs Dragón, another match between the Platense and Alianza feathered teams and another between the leader of group A, the firefighter team, against Limeño.
The leaders of group A, Jocoro and Águila, sealed a tie with six goals, with a double from Francisca González, and a goal from Sandra Tamacas for the stovers, while Syntia Benítez, Rut Quintanilla and Giselle Gómez scored for the Migueleños. By goal difference, the Firefighters are in first position in the table.
Limeño sealed the three points against the Fuerte San Francisco players with a score of 2 to 0 thanks to Norma Canales and Yarely Díaz.
Another of the group A matches was that of Luis Ángel Firpo, who fell 2-3, against the mythological team of Dragon, with the brands of Wendy Lizama, Sabrina Larios and Haydée Pineda. Helen Orellana scored for the pampero team.
In group B, Alianza was crowned leader with the victory they gave to Santa Tecla, a handful of goals with doubles from Valentina Alvarenga and Keyla Lino, plus the addition of Maggie Segovia.
Meanwhile, Isidro Metapán and Platense shared points after tying 1×1, with goals from Jessica Ortiz from the Santa Ana team and Gabriela Mejía for the feathered team.
In the case of the Tigrillo team, FAS defeated the 4×0 border tank at home, with a double from Melissa Rivera and a goal from Daniela Ochoa and another from Daniela Peña.
Positions table
Group A is led by Jocoro, with 13 units, as well as the league’s runners-up, Águila, with the same number of points. In third position is Limeño, below Dragon, Firpo and Fuerte San Francisco.
In group B, Alianza Woman is the lone leader, then Metapán, FAS in third, Platense, Santa Tecla and 11 Deportivo.
