The strongest Lithuanian water polo players will compete in Alytus

On January 31 and February 2 and 4, the Alytus ASRC pool hosted the 2024. The first round of the Lithuanian men’s open water polo championship. In the first and second rounds of the championship, six teams compete in the round-robin system, three of which will enter the final third round, where the four strongest teams will compete for the championship awards. Elektrėnai “Zaibo” water polo players, like last year’s championship winners, entered the final round without competition.

In the first round, all teams played five games each. The winners of the round were the Kaunas swimming school team, which defeated all the competitors, the athletes of the Vilnius water polo club “Delfinas” in second place, the Alytus “Dzūkijos vandenio”-ASRC team, which defeated the Vilnius “Vilnius 2” team, in the third place, Riga’s “Sharks” and Klaipėda “Baltijos” water polo players. and losing to Kaunas PM and Vilnius “Delfino” teams. After the battles of this round, the Alytis really claim to fight in the final round for the championship awards. The second round of the championship will take place on April 25-28, and the final on May 23-26.
