Cleaning day at El Zapote beach – – 2024-03-29 21:17:47

With bags, shovels and rakes in hand, national and international players as well as staff from the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES), together with Beach Soccer WorldWide, participated in the cleanup of El Zapote beach, in San Luis La Horseshoe.

Beach cleaning is an activity led by the Beach Soccer Foundation, an initiative that was born 10 years ago in order to raise awareness about the protection of natural resources.

“For us, the beach is our home since our sport is carried out on beach grounds, which was originally where this modality was born. It is our job to keep this beautiful coast clean and every time we come to leave it better than we found it,” commented Fernando Álvarez, representative of the foundation.

René Martínez, general director of INDES, led the activity together with Josep Ponset, Beach Soccer events director, who together with the El Salvador Beach Soccer Cup 2024 teams, carried out the activity with great enthusiasm.

“Beach Soccer Worldwide places great emphasis on bringing sports activities together with those of social responsibility, with this we want to send a message of awareness to all the people who practice the sport, the fans in general and also to the inhabitants of the community,” Martínez mentioned.

Meanwhile, the national team Anderson Castro, who is also part of the Barra de Santiago team, of the Beach Soccer League organized by INDES, expressed that it is the first time he participates in this activity.

“Just as Beach Soccer Worldwide mentions, for us the beach is our home, it is a nice experience to be able to live with the members of the other teams. Without a doubt, this initiative is a message that I will take to Barra de Santiago so that we can take it up again in our community,” Castro concluded.
